Elliptiske funksjonar i elementær analyse

This article considers the origin of the classical theory of elliptic integrals and functions, and focuses on two well-known "periodic phenomena" within classical mechanics that virtually forced mathematical analysis onto this new track two or three centuries ago. Differential equations also occupy a natural place in the study of periodic functions and periodeic oscillations, and Jacobi's elliptic functions are introduced via this route.
