Thinking Geographically about House and Home
Department of Geography, Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Project leaders: Cathrine Brun and Gunhild Setten
One would be hard pressed to think of a more important and fundamental idea to people than that of ‘home’. Although ideas about ‘home’ and having a ‘house’ in which to live are fundamental to our being, their meaning and relationship is highly contested. In this project, undertaken by staff at the Department of Geography at NTNU, we aim to study house and home as markers, producers and reproducers of identities, social lives and places.
The pictures shown are taken by Geography staff. They demonstrate some of the breadth and depth of ideas about house and home as well as our research.
