Systems Engineering – A Promising Approach For Design Of Manufacturing Systems

Sammendrag

The profession of systems engineering is most often associated with the complexity of the automotive or aeronautic industries, or the frontiers of space exploration, primarily because these employers use the words in job titles. More systems engineering is done by people with job titles such as product manager, production engineer or manger, industrial engineer, product design, systems analyst, researcher, or … This report presents a brief overview of the foundations of systems engineering, some definitions, a view into what systems engineers really do, and how all the above is relevant to production and manufacturing systems. The report is more theoretical than practical and is intended for knowledge-building over advising.
