Sammendrag
Pauliina Heiskanen and Maria Wannerer are both lecturers in arts and crafts, but in different areas. Maria teaches textile arts and crafts, while Pauliina is trained in wood arts and crafts. Anne- Lise Wie teaches Norwegian, specializing in literacy and creative storytelling. We wanted to work together with creativity, connecting different cultures, various materials, and involving interdisciplinary learning. The project we landed on involves creating puppets using natural or recycled materials, using the puppets in creative storytelling and creative writing. The starter for the project is a treasur-box sent from one countr to the other. In this students will different items such as legends or myths, different materials/fabrics, pictures, music and other things from the area, which all function as impulses for creativity. The students listen to the music, read the legends and look at the different object. Then they have a brainstorming session to get ideas for a new story. The next step is making the puppets, trolls, mer-people or other creatures using materials connected to the contens of the treasure-box. With these they illustrate their story, using a camera to document the process and product. I will give a presentation on the project at Nesna. As a pre-work to the project we worked with Land-Art and creative storytelling on a beach in the area. This beach was our "class-room" for the whole project.
