Production of concrete structure with recycled materials

Sammendrag

A concrete structure at Pilestredet Utsyn, Oslo, is produced aiming at 25% recycled material of concrete weight. Review of design and material data and analysis of structural behaviour revealed uncertainties about long term deflections in some decks with existing design codes, partly limiting the use of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA). Ready mixed concrete with 20-39% weight % recycled material of the concrete weight was developed along with QA-schemes and used as far as possible in the16000 ton structure with more than 75% concrete. The target percentage of recycled materials (aggregates, binder, water) can be obtained by continued research on concrete materials and structural design.
