Sammendrag
In this study we monitor ICT related attitude among primary and secondary school teachers in Finnmark County, Norway. Finnmark is the northernmost county in Norway and is of special interest since motivation for school activities and scores on knowledge based tests generally is lower than in the rest of the country. The population is a mix of several ethnic sub-groups, including the Sami people. Population density is low. Many villages have less than 1000 inhabitants, and only a few centres have more than 5000 people. The school system is therefore diverse, with many small schools and a few larger ones. The informants attended in a course in technology and design at Finnmark University College in 2007. The informants in this study revealed a positive attitude to four of five aspects related to the use of PCs in their teaching jobs. Furthermore, the informants' age co varied negatively with. attitudes, and there seems to be a positive link between teachers' self efficacy related to their own use of PC and attitudes related to the use of PC in teaching. Variations within schools in attitudes were in general larger than between schools.
