Developing services in sparsely populated municipalities in Nordic countries

Analyzes the service sector i 36 municipalities, all being peripheral located, having a higher than average production in the agricultural sector and a decline in population in the 1990s. All service activities (private and public) in the municipalities during the period 1991-1996 were registered by sector. In addition 140 reported "success stories" from these municipalities are analyzed and dicussed.
