Development of a knowledge based elite sport in Norway : Knowledge Management oriented or Process oriented?

Sammendrag

This paper is concerned with development of a knowledge based elite sport in Norway. Taking a practiced based approach on knowing in organizations I try to go ?behind the scene? and using and find out what the key factors are in knowledge based elite sport. Earlier findings (Orr 1996) points to that the work done by the technicians often was very different from the methods specified by their management in the machine documentation. Are the techniques and methods used by Olympiatoppen (A official part of the Norwegian Olympic committee) the same, as we can observe by trainers and athletes in the local practice? I introduce a term learning space or learning network witch means all the elements that will be in ?action? in training sessions. In recent theories we often find that the elements are arranged in a hierarchical range and the utmost importance of explicit knowledge and the managements ?voice?. I will try to look how the learning network is constituted in the elite sport training sessions.
