Sammendrag
Four models explaining employees contributing to innovation in their organization are compared. One model explain intrapreneurial contribution by focusing on a personal trait, the trait investigated is proactive personality measured with Crant’s (1996) Proactive Personality Scale. The Proactive Personality Scale has previous been used to describe entrepreneurial intentions and career success. Another model is derived from Pinchot (1985) and Pinchot and Pellman (1999) describing the intrapreneur. The third model is derived from Kanter (1984) who describes the corporate entrepreneur and the corporate environment of the corporate entrepreneur. The fourth and last model combines these three models and adds some variables describing the position the employee holds at the organization. The models are tested by surveying a sample of 656 employees from a diverse set of occupations and organizations. There where 6% of the respondents classified as intrapreneurs, contributing substantially more that asked for to innovation in their organization, only 15% was contributing substantially less to innovation than expected by their organization, leaving 78% of the sample as corporate entrepreneurs contributing as expected to innovation in their organization.
