Tittel

Written talk (e-chat) in distance learning. A reflective analysis on its synchonographic character

Sammendrag

What is typical for this technology generally and for its use in teaching especially? Is there anything new at all? Within e-communication, chatting seems to be unique, because of its sequential character. This is again due to the fact that technology enhances a conversation that is both written and simultaneous in a combination. It is syn ¿ chrono ¿ graphic (from Greek: together with - time - written). The synchronographic character makes the chaos often involved in using it understandable, both in teaching and in other circumstances. The synchronographic feature may also be seen as a general lifeworld ¿script¿ of computer technology, a founding feature, not only in e-chatting, but also for our meeting with the whole computer technology. Word processors, databases, spreadsheets, video editors, etc. are all synchronographic in one or another way when we take "graphic" to refer to all indirect (not face to face) mediated presentations (visual, auditive and tactile)
