Fotografene spilte en viktig rolle i presentasjon og tolkning av de mange protestene i 1968. Fotoene har blitt en del av det kollektive minnet om konfliktene mellom demonstranter og myndigheter. Med utgangspunkt i en kvantitativ analyse av samtlige foto om protestfenomenet i de tre største norske avisene i 1968, drøfter artikkelen i hvilken grad og hvordan aviser med ulik partipolitisk tilhørighet bidro til å gi uttrykk for bestemte holdninger til protestbegivenhetene som fenomen gjennom framingene i pressefotoene. In 1968, photographers played an important role in presenting and interpreting the many revolts at the time. Their work constitutes an important part of the collective memory of the conflicts between demonstrators and authorities. Based on quantitative analysis of the total photographic coverage in the three largest Norwegian daily newspapers in 1968, this article discusses whether and, if so, how news photography in dailies with different political leaning framed the protest phenomenon in a particular way.
