The economics of TV-sports rights

The most popular international and national competitions are able to gather enourmous amount of viewers. As a consequence, the value of the exclusive TV-rights for the media has increased dramatically, and become an important part of the total revenues for the holders of such rights. This paper will focus on the recent developments, but also discuss some future scenarios.
