Experiences with New Digital Services in Education of Welding Personnel

This paper outlines and discuss the Activity Based Training (ABT) environment that has been developed recently. It outlines flexible system solutions for just-in-time transfer of mechanical industry production process know-how at the workplace that requires detailed transfer of technical production processes knowledge. ABT delivers theoretical content when it is needed just in front of the practical training tasks, linking directly theory and practice in order to promote relevance and motivate the student. The ABT method follows the industrial production process. The paper also discusses the new emerging student response services for iPOD Touch and iPhone.
