A model for ambiguity reduction in new product development projects

Sammendrag

In this paper we explore the process by which ambiguity is reduced in New Product Development (NPD) projects, and propose a model that enhances our understanding of this process. We show how ambiguity in NPD projects can efficiently be reduced through application of the hypothetical-deductive method (HDM). The most efficient reduction of ambiguity is obtained when the HDM is used to test underlying assumptions that constitute the source of ambiguity.
