Sammendrag
Multicrystalline solar cells of two different silicon production routes have been tested by light and heat induced
degradation. Solar cells made of standard poly silicon cells have been experimentally compared to cells produced
with the Elkem Solar Silicon (ESS) material. Initially, the two types of cells performed similarly, with efficiencies of
about 16%. The experiments demonstrate a high potential of such methods for studying accelerated degradation
phenomena. However, since the number of cells examined is limited, major conclusions cannot be drawn from the
present results.
