An inquiry into the centrality of women’s work in our alleged age of automation and anargument for expanding the definition of work, to include household labor and other forms ofinvisible labor. My hypothesis is that discussions around technology, either for or against, often serve to obscure the gendered and racialized division of labor in the globalized economy.
