Higher artistic education can be considered an important space for artistic experimentation and critical discourse. The Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (FBAUL) and the Oslo National Academy of Art (KHIO), through its Arts & Crafts department, consider themselves as institutions committed to Artistic Research (AR), in their education, training and development, want to share and think together about AR and future North-South collaborations. Thus, ARcTic South is a joint thought project, seeking to strengthen the connection between academic artistic practices from northern and southern Europe, dismantling the practice of AR, its diffractions and emerging contact zones, as well as the possible (un)doings. the practice of artistic research. The ARcTic South project is funded by the EEA Grants bilateral initiative program between FBAUL (promoter) and the Arts & Crafts department of the National Academy of Art in Oslo (Partner).
