The basic idea of this project is to contribute to this transformation and modernization of the health system with research and innovation enhancing health care workers’ (e.g. psychologists, and psychotherapists) skills in dealing with complex situations and to prevent emotional burnout and empathy fatigue. Several studies have firmly established the relationship between workrelated stress and professional burnout. However, we see the need for more focused efforts aimed at enhancing practical skills training, as many professionals report insecurity, stress, and reduced experience of mastery in several situations of everyday work. A general method for improving the quality of inter-relational meetings might have a health economic impact on a par with choice of evidence-based methods. Systematic evaluation of supervision and skills is nevertheless lacking and new technology such as Virtual Reality (VR) technology and up-and-coming skills training such as deliberate practice, where learning loops in specific interpersonal skills are put into system, yields promise for effective training on central skills for health professionals.
