MANER will build a strong and robust collaborative network of well-established academic partners in four priority countries USA, India, China, and Japan. Through MANER the network aims to establish and strengthen long term relations for collaborations within the scope of research and education into the field of the understanding visual appearance of materials. The objectives will be achieved through several activities in the field of education and research like joint training schools, conference special sessions, workshops, student and staff mobility, and support for the development of courses with collaborative teaching, recognition, and contribution towards existing master and doctoral programs at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU.
To accomplish the objectives of MANER, we define the following main activities:

2. Mobility of students and researchers among the partners for research and educational collaboration, joint supervision and access to laboratory facilities across the network partners,
3. Joint development and accreditation of an advanced level master course on visual appearance measurement and understanding.
